All You Need Is Someone Who’s Designed It, Built It — and Knows How to Get It Right.

Whether you're building a new home, adding on, or renovating, Project Friend can provide expert guidance through every stage — with 25 years of hands-on architectural and construction experience behind every decision.

Why Project Friend Exists

During my time running a construction company, I often reminded my site managers of an important reality: while a client may not have technical knowledge, they may one day invite a friend, colleague, or family member with construction experience to visit the site. If that person noticed something out of place — even minor — it could instantly affect the client’s confidence. From that moment, trust in the process shifted. The client would turn to this informal advisor for reassurance, and that person would often become more involved, sometimes leading to tension, confusion, or delays. I realized then that many homeowners don’t have someone they can rely on from the start — someone with the experience to guide them, protect their interests, and explain things clearly. That’s what inspired Project Friend: a service designed to offer that missing layer of expert support from the very beginning.

The right first decision makes the next hundred easier.

We Listen

Before plans are drawn or trenches are dug, we meet with you — in person — to understand your goals, your site, your concerns, and what you’re hoping to build.

If you already have drawings or documentation, we’ll review them and offer honest, potentially cost-saving feedback — before you make major decisions.

We Visit

If you’d like continued support, we offer structured or once-off site visits at key stages of your project. Still deciding whether to purchase a property or piece of land?

We can visit with you beforehand to help you make an informed choice — before it becomes a costly one.

We Support

From first consultation to final touches, Project Friend is available to answer questions, interpret professional advice, and give you the confidence to stay in control.

You don’t have to face critical building decisions alone — we're with you when it matters.

Who is your Project Friend

Francois Conradie
National Diploma Building | B.Tech Architectural Management Registered with SACAP | Former NHBRC-Registered Builder With over 25 years of experience in both architectural design and residential construction, I’ve worked on projects of every shape and size — from small additions to 1000m² homes with basements, sound studios, and complex structural challenges. As a former construction company owner, I’ve built homes across South Africa.

As a designer, I’ve contributed to office blocks, car dealerships, multi-story apartments, and golf clubhouses. But my true passion lies in residential projects — where families build their lives. What I saw too often was this: clients who were expected to make critical building decisions without the experience to do so — and no one truly on their side to explain the process, offer honest input, or prevent costly missteps.

That’s why I created Project Friend: to support homeowners and renovators through their first building journey with professional insight, personal guidance, and someone they can trust from start to finish. Because building your dream shouldn’t feel like walking in the dark.

What Does It Cost?

The better question is — what could it save you?

Before you spend hundreds of thousands on your building project, consider this: For just R1,500*, you’ll sit down with someone who’s spent 25 years navigating the real issues that cost homeowners time, money, and peace of mind.

This is more than a consultation — it’s a chance to ask any question (yes, any), get clarity on your plans, and understand the real risks and priorities before they become expensive mistakes. There are no “stupid” questions — only missed opportunities when they’re not asked.

Why clients say it’s the most valuable hour they’ve ever spent:

Clear answers to questions they didn’t know they should be asking
Unbiased feedback on plans, drawings, or quotations
Cost-saving insights from real project experience
Confidence to move forward — or pause before something goes wrong

What You Get for R1,500*

A 60–90 minute in-person meeting
Review of your existing documents (if available)
Discussion of goals, concerns, site factors, and common pitfalls
Straight talk — no sales, no jargon, just honest advice

The R1,500* you spend here will likely save you multiples of that in the long run. It's the most important decision you'll make — and the smallest line item in your entire project budget.
